The Crescent with Stanley Korshak
The Crescent is a mixed-use complex consisting of three sixteen-story office buildings, high-end retail, and a luxury hotel, Hotel Crescent Court, situated on a triangular site in Uptown. The curved facade was derived from 18th century British architecture. The mansard roof is French architecture while the grill work, which goes up the sides of the skyscrapers, is specifically copied from the Ashton Villa, a Victorian house located in Galveston, Texas. Crescent Court was built in 1985 and designed by Johnson/Burgee. STANLEY KORSHAK Situated in the heart of Uptown, barely a mile from the downtown Dallas skyline and the remarkable Arts District, Stanley Korshak is a Texas institution. Stanley Korshak is comprised of a collection of shops – The Bridal Salon, The Shak, and The Main Store, which cover over 65,000 square feet at the Crescent, a dramatic complex, designed by Philip Johnson and John Burgee and inspired by classic Parisian and Georgian architecture. Stanley Korshak has earned plenty of accolades. MR Magazine presented Store Owner, Crawford Brock, its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013, and Stanley Korshak has been named one of the 50 most influential men's stores in America by Women's Wear Daily, the esteemed bible of the fashion business. Season after season, Stanley Korshak continues to be a premier luxury fashion destination not only for Dallasites, but also the world.
