The new Parkland Hospital is a $1.27 billion healthcare facility replacing the existing 54-year-old Parkland Memorial Hospital. The New Parkland Hospital is one of the most advanced medical technology and sustainable hospitals in the United States, caring for over a million lives a year in Dallas. At nearly twice the size of the current hospital, the new Parkland has been designed to meet the ever-changing needs of Dallas County – one of the largest, fastest-growing regions in the country. Parkland Hospital is the largest public hospital building in the nation built in one phase. The old Parkland Memorial Hospital is best known as the hospital where three individuals associated with the assassination of John F. Kennedy either died or were pronounced dead: John F. Kennedy himself, his assassin Lee Harvey Oswald, and Jack Ruby, who killed Oswald.
