Founders Plaza
A recently updated open park area, Founders Plaza is surrounded by the “Old Red” Courthouse, John Neely Bryan Cabin, the Kennedy Memorial and a terrazzo map of Dallas County in the 1800s. Once an overgrown area, it was updated to modern standards with landscape maintenance, new irrigation lines and tubing to support the landscaping, fountain repair, 19 new park benches and a pavement treatment that added color to the plaza’s surface. Now, Founders Plaza features a beautiful fountain that branches off into three arms to represent the Trinity River, the longest river flowing entirely within Texas. The renovations to the park also revitalized the area, providing a more attractive and welcoming downtown destination.
