Reunion Tower and Omni Dallas Hotel
An orb-topped 561-foot observation tower, Reunion Tower is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Dallas. Located in the Reunion District, the tower was a freestanding structure until an addition to the Hyatt Regency Dallas in 1998, which made it part of the complex. The 15th tallest building in Dallas, Reunion Tower was completed in 1978 with the Hyatt Regency Dallas as part of an urban redevelopment project that also renovated the historic Union Station that today services Amtrak, Dallas Area Rapid Transit and the Trinity Railway Express to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and Fort Worth. The observation level of Reunion Tower is called the “GeO-Deck,” which includes an interactive digital experience offering information about Dallas landmarks, Reunion Tower, the events of November 22, 1963, and live-view high-definition cameras. The exterior part of the observation deck features telescopes that provide amazing views in every direction. Connected via skybridge to the Dallas Convention Center, Omni Dallas Hotel is at the center of the revitalized Downtown Dallas area and close to an array of restaurants and shops and the Dallas Arts District. Opened on November 11, 2011, it is one of the best examples of contemporary hotel design and has become one of the most noticeable buildings in the city. Its boomerang-like shape gives the Omni Dallas Hotel one of the most unique shapes of any building in Dallas, but its exceptionality comes from its exterior. The exterior walls are laced with thousands of color-changing lights that make it possible for the hotel to display beautiful images and patterns constantly change and draw the eyes of every passerby at night.
