Expanding Universe Hall at the Perot Museum of Nature & Science
Opened in December 2012, the Perot Museum of Nature & Science (Perot Museum) sits in Victory Park. The museum was the result of a unique 2006 merger of three cultural institutions—the Dallas Museum of Natural History (established in 1936), The Science Place (established in 1946) and the Dallas Children’s Museum (established in 1995). Today, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science consist of two campuses: the primary campus in Victory Park and a secondary campus in Fair Park. An entire floor at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science is known as the Expanding Universe Hall, which is dedicated to a journey through the solar system and beyond to discover how scientists uncover the secrets of the universe. Visitors stargaze in broad daylight, learn about the scale of the universe and virtually travel through the solar system through stunning multimedia elements that bring the awe-inspiring beauty of stars, planets and distant galaxies perfectly into focus.
