John G. Mahler Student Center at Dallas Baptist University

Formerly known as Dallas Baptist College, Dallas Baptist University (DBU) is a Christian liberal arts university located about 12 miles southwest of Downtown Dallas near Mountain Creek Lake. Founded in 1898 as Decatur Baptist College, Dallas Baptist University currently operates two other campuses in Plano and Hurst. The John G. Mahler Student Center became the first new building on the Dallas Baptist University (DBU) campus in more than 20 years when it was dedicated in 1992. Designed as a near replica of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, it was the first of many new buildings erected in the Georgian architectural style on the campus.
