Main Street District

Running along Main Street and bounded by Lamar Street, Elm Street and Commerce Street, the Main Street District is the spine of Downtown Dallas, connecting many of the city’s business and entertainment districts. Historically, Main Street always has been the center of Dallas and is considered the first part of the city to thrive as an urban area with economic success. The Dallas Area Rapid Transport (DART) runs through the district, alleviating traffic congestion and creating an easier commute for people in the area. The Main Street District is home to El Centro College, Bank of America Plaza, Center City Plaza, Kirby Building, Stone Place Tower, Bank One Center and Titche-Goettinger Department Store as well as a myriad of restaurants.
