Pegasus Sign the Old Red Museum
Gracing the Old Red Museum’s first floor is a brightly glowing Pegasus sign that originally was built for the 1939 World’s Fair in New York City. Before being salvaged by the Old Red Museum, the Pegasus sign was at the now-demolished Casa Linda Mobil Gas Station east of Downtown Dallas. Today it greets visitors by leading them up the Grand Staircase to the second-floor museum galleries. The original larger Dallas Pegasus sitting for a long time on top of the Magnolia Building was erected for the 1934 American Petroleum Institute Convention.
