Turtle Creek
An elegant yet unpretentious community north of downtown and west of Uptown, the Turtle Creek neighborhood often is considered to be the kindly grandfather of Dallas. Played a prominent role in the city’s early history, Turtle Creek runs alongside a scenic tributary of the Trinity River, starting in Reverchon Park and winding down through the greater Oak Lawn district to the adjacent Highland Park. Turtle Creek covers around 80 city blocks with 90 acres of green space—unusual for the area. Turtle Creek boasts many grand estates, luxury townhomes and modern high-rises. Turtle Creek also has become the nickname for the Oak Lawn neighborhood and sometimes applies to a spillover of the Uptown area.
