Texas Pacific Railway Trinity River Bridge
Running parallel to the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, the Texas Pacific Railway Trinity River Bridge is a metal Warren truss bridge that was built by the Texas and Pacific (T&P) Railroad in 1930. The T&P was merged into the Missouri Pacific RR in 1976 and is now part of the Union Pacific RR. The bridge is used by Amtrak trains and the Trinity Railway Express commuter rail as well as a local Class III switching railroad, the Dallas Garland and Northeastern. As such, the bridge is a favorite spot for railroad fans for spotting trains on their way out of Dallas. The concrete bridge sports a variety of interesting and artistic graffiti, which become covered when the Trinity River floods.
