Scottish Rite Cathedral
Located in Downtown Dallas at the corner of Harwood and Young Streets, the Scottish Rite Cathedral was designed in 1913 by Hubbell and Greene as a Neo-classical Revival structure with a large portico and Corinthian columns. The first and permanent home of Scottish Rite Freemasonry in Dallas, it has been called the “University of Freemasonry.” Under this system, Freemasons have the chance to embrace a broad and sweeping education in the morals and ethics of the Freemasonry fraternity, which touts the cornerstones of freedom of thought and expression with self-improvement as the goal. Dallas is the largest Valley in the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States.
