Frontiers of Flight Museum
Offering a place to explore the history and progress of aviation, the Frontiers of Flight Museum boasts an amazing collection of aviation history from the early days of flight to the latest advances by today’s modern military, commercial and aerospace vehicles. Founded in 1988, the museum was created in honor of legendary aviation historian George E. Haddaway and the pivotal role of the Dallas/Fort Worth area as the Aviation Capital of the World. Visitors walk through a thrilling timeline of aviation history as well as displays that include a World War I biplane, 200 models representing the nations involved in World War II, uniforms, decorations, engines and propellers as well as the largest unburnt piece from the Hindenburg disaster of 1937. The tour ends with a close-up look at today’s space program with artifacts like the Space Shuttle Borgiter, which weighs more than 12 jumbo jets.
