Sydney Smith Memorial Fountain at Fair Park

The Sydney Smith Memorial Fountain stands adjacent to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Fair Park. Named for Sydney Smith, a long-time Secretary of the State Fair Association after the resignation of Frank P. Holland in 1886, the fountain originally stood near the old Exposition Building in Grand Plaza. The fountain later was moved immediately in front of the Music Hall before coming to its current location in the 1970s during the construction of an extension to the Music Hall.
